Hi! My name is Chris Kroner, and I have had the great joy and privilege of being a family practice and sports medicine physician since completing my training in 2013. I love this work, but over the last 12 years in a traditional insurance based academic practice, I've grown increasingly frustrated with the business of medicine as it stands today. I've grown tired of being unavailable to my patients with 3-6 month wait times for appointments, centralized and impersonal call centers giving my patients erroneous information and making it impossible for them to reach me, and bloated charges for services that I had no control over and did not often enhance the care of patients.
My wife and I have been feeling the call of the Rocky Mountains for years now after frequent vacations to the area, so when we finally decided to move our family out to Wheat Ridge in summer 2025, I knew it was time to try something new. I am quite excited to join the growing and innovative movement of Direct Primary Care physicians around the country. I am confident that this model will allow me to get back to doing what drew me to primary care in the first place - developing long term relationships with my patients and their families, providing education, reassurance, and guidance along the way as we work together to achieve your health goals. Having the additional skill set in sports medicine with experience ranging from treating professional and Olympic athletes, to volunteering with high school sports, to caring for weekend warriors, to helping patients with chronic pain syndromes will be a perfect fit to supplement your active Colorado lifestyle. I do also love teaching, having spent the last 12 years as a full=time faculty member training medical students, residents, and fellows currently practicing in multiple specialties. See the start page for a partial list of the organizations I've worked with in the past. Further details on my training history below.
